This Easter Weekend is the 2nd NZ Heritage Hockey Tournament being held at Kolmar Sports in Papatoetoe for a second time.
Last year the tournament had NZ Maori Hockey, NZ Indian Sports Association, NZ Paskifika Hockey, and Hockey NZ organisations participating. This year Hockey NZ has not entered any teams as they are focusing on their North South venture being held here in Hamilton next week starting the 19th April 2022.
To replace the Hockey NZ Development men’s and women’s teams NZ Heritage Hockey have entered their own Heritage Hockey Barbarians men’s and women’s teams. A mix of blended ethnicity.
Waikato Hockey is proud to mention that 18 top-class players have been picked for the various organisations to represent their men’s and women’s teams. Congratulations to all players.
