2023 U16 Northern Regions Festival

What is the U16 Carnival?
The U16 Carnival is a Northern Region initiative. It provides an opportunity for players to finish the season in style, allowing them to play and test themselves against teams from Northland, North Harbour, Auckland, Counties Manukau, Thames Valley, Tauranga and Bay of Plenty.

When? 23rd – 26th September
Where? North Harbour

Who?
The Carnival has opportunities for players of all abilities. Depending on interest Waikato Hockey is intending on sending teams for the following grades.
11-a-side selected teams for U16 players
5-a-side U16 (including year 9’s)

Trials: Teams will be assembled after trials
Thursday 10th August & Thursday 17th August– 4pm- 5.30pm at Gallagher Hockey Centre.

Trainings: Teams will train in the 2 weeks lead up before the carnival (from 9th – 21st September)The times will be confirmed after the trials and teams have been confirmed.

Accommodation: We are looking into finding accommodation to stay over as teams at this tournament.

Cost: $800

This includes accommodation, food, transport, uniform. We have secured accommodation at a boarding house in Auckland for all our teams.

Who?

In order to register for the 2023 WHA U16 Carnival teams, players need to be born in 2007 or 2008 or year 9 for the 5-aside.

When: 2023 Tournament 10th -13th July

Draw: Tri Series July 2023

Where: Hamilton

A competitive tournament aiming to expose players in our development program to high quality standard games.

Development Program Players only.

** Limited places available. If maximum capacity is reached WHA will select players to attend.
