Camps

The camp is at the Gallagher Hockey Centre.

Overnight stays are marae style in the pavilion at Gallagher Hockey Centre. Boys and girls sleep separate.

There are at least two WHA staff staying over, as well as (depending on numbers) one or two coaches. There will be at least one female and male staff or coach staying over.

All coaches will be police vetted.

Children will have their phones available during the camp (not while on the turf), we won’t take them off them. The pavilion can always be reached as well (078380485).

In the afternoon we will play outdoor games, have teambuilding activities, play group games inside, have a movie night, and we’ll allow for a little bit of free time.

A normal day looks like 3 x 1.5 hours of hockey during the day. In the afternoon for over-night campers we will play outdoor games, have teambuilding activities, play group games inside, have a movie night, and we’ll allow for a little bit of free time. The day program has a hockey development focus, the afternoon program has a holiday program focus.

We see it as our job to have all children have the best experience possible. During the day we put children in groups based on their hockey ability. The activities we have in the afternoon are meant as ice breakers and serve the purpose of creating inclusiveness.

Absolutely (however there would be no refund of the fees, as your child would have already been catered for).
