Congratulations to our U18s National Tournament Umpires

Congratulations to Aidan McManus, Kaitlyn Wallace, Kees Goodman, and Aidan Scarlett who are our Waikato Hockey U18 National Tournament representative umpires for 2023.

A special mention to Kaitlyn who will be attending the tournament for the first time and will travel to Lloyd Elsmore Park – Auckland with Aidan McManus. She has been building in confidence throughout the season within our Secondary competition, now testing her skills in the boy’s grade as she builds to tournament.

Aidan Scarlett is an experienced veteran at this level, who we’ve been so pleased to see return to top level umpiring after taking a season away. He travels to Dunedin with Kees Goodman who steps up for 18s again after his debut in 2022. Both this pair and Aidan McManus are active in our Premier and Intercity competitions, also supporting the improvement of our Sunday Reserve competitions.

All four are active members of the Waikato Hockey Umpire Academy and give back to our community in umpire coaching capacity to support our junior and developing umpires.

Waikato Hockey wishes this group the best of luck at this year’s tournaments, challenges them to enjoy every moment of the experience, and is grateful for the work they do in our local community.
