U16 Festivals

The 2021 Representative tournament and festival structure has changed. The U16 age group will have two festival run by the Northern Regions (Northland, North Harbour, Auckland, Counties, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley and Waikato). These festivals will have a bigger emphasis on participation than the National U15 tournaments used to have. All players that register will be allowed the opportunity to play at a festival, depending on numbers they can choose which festival they would like to attend.

Northern Regions have advised that there will be no trials for these teams, and associations are encouraged to make evenly balanced teams.

There are two different U16 festivals in October.

11-a-side Festival
2-5 October in Pukekohe
Players can register and will be allocated a team by WHA. Any potential overflow can be assigned to a 6-a-side Festival team.

7-a-side Festival
8-10 October in Hamilton
Players can register individually and will be allocated a team by WHA, or players can enter a team to the festival.

Waikato Hockey is now taking registrations for players wanting to take part in the Northern Region U16 Festivals in October. Registrations can be done using the following links. More information can be found on our website.
