Positive Vibes at Waikato Hockey

Respect the Game: ‘Positive Vibes Only’

We want to thank our dedicated Waikato Hockey supporters for the passion and energy they bring to our games. Your support is invaluable to our clubs, players, and the wider hockey community. We also appreciate the hard work of our member clubs, staff, and umpires who ensure our matches run smoothly throughout the season.

Waikato Hockey is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable hockey experience for everyone. We encourage all players, coaches, and supporters to respect the game and each other, ensuring hockey remains a sport that brings people together in the best possible way.

Addressing Concerns About Behaviour

Recently, there has been a rise in complaints regarding inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour both on and off the turf. Competitive spirit is at the heart of hockey, but it must be paired with respect, fairness, and sportsmanship. Disrespectful behaviour towards officials, players, or fellow supporters undermines the values we strive to uphold and impacts the enjoyment of the game for everyone and will not be tolerated.

We ask all participants, players, coaches, and spectators to demonstrate positive conduct, ensuring that Waikato Hockey competitions remain an inclusive and welcoming space.

Positive Vibes Only

Waikato Hockey aligns with Sport Waikato’s ‘Positive Vibes Only’ campaign, which promotes a welcoming and encouraging environments for all involved in sport.
