The Junior Division (JD) is responsible for the Primary, Intermediate and Secondary Schools Winter Competition.

2026 Season Dates

Junior Division Dates:

Cambridge Mini Hockey

Start: 8^th May 2026

Finish: 28^th August 2026

No Play: 29^th May (Kings Birthday weekend), 12^th June (Fieldays), 3^rd July – 17^th July (School Holidays)

Waikato Mini Hockey

Start: 9^th May 2026

Finish: 29^th August 2026

No Play: 30^th May (Kings Birthday weekend), 6^th July – 17^th July (School Holidays)

Waikato Intermediate

Start: 1^st May 2026

Finish: 28^th August 2026

No Play: 29^th May (Kings Birthday weekend), 6^th July – 17^th July (School Holidays)

Waikato Secondary School

Start: 4^th May, 5^th May, & 6^th May

Finish: 24^th August, 25^th August, 26^th August

No Play: 1st June (Kings Birthday) & 6th July – 17th July (School Holidays)

Cancellation Notices

It is very rare for hockey to be cancelled, as hockey is played on an artificial surface. Sometimes the turf can experience flooding but does drain away quickly once the rain stops.

Cancellation notifications will appear on the homepage of the website and a message on our Facebook page.
