The U13 landscape is changing due to the disappearance of the Hatch and Collier National Tournaments, as well as the implementation of the Sport NZ ‘Balance is Better’ and ‘Keep up with the Play’ campaigns. The challenges of COVID-19 add even more complications to the situation. With the right approach to the current situation WHA can provide appropriate amendments to the U13 program and might even allow us to pioneer in the holistic approach on player development and take huge steps forward in this age group.

New Development Program

To replace the traditional U13 rep season, WHA is considering organising holistic development camps in the July and October school holidays and to host an U13 festival to finish the year in style. Due to the expected financial impact the current COVID-19 outbreak will have, WHA aims to host the U13 events at our own grounds to provide low cost opportunities.
