Drizzle didn't spoil the enthusiasm of players at the finals of this
season's 8 a side competition.
The Milne cup was awarded to Southwell Raptors after a hard-fought game
against Hukanui Dribblers which could have gone either way. Bruce Milne
complimented both teams on the quality of their hockey.
Kate Mahon was on hand to make presentations to the
Waikato Year 5/6 Representative players. She spoke about her years as
a Waikato Rep, and the friendships she has made through hockey. She
encouraged the rep players to train hard and to enjoy the game, but
also to value the friendships they will make along the way.
Black
Stick, Kate Mahon signs off autographs at Mini closing day.
Kate and her Blackstick team-mates, Clarissa Eshuis and Di
Weavers will be playing in Hamilton on Sunday Sept 24th when
the Midlands women take on North Harbour in the National Hockey League.
