| CODE OF CONDUCT The Waikato Hockey Association is determined to maintain high standards of on field behaviour and has instructed umpires to deal firmly with all cases where players or team officials : a. swear, spontaneously or otherwise b. strike other players, whether it be with a stick, fist or foot c. indulge in umpire abuse or displays of dissent, this covers the period following the match also d. any unseemly or unsportsperson like behaviour ... SPECIAL CONDITIONS 1. Swearing. Players who swear on the field will be temporarily suspended although no points will be awarded in respect of cards issued for this offence. Umpires are to use their discretion as to the appropriate length of the suspension, with a 5 minute minimum applicable. These cards will be recorded and players who consistently offend may be required to appear before the Judicial Committee who may impose whatever suspension/penalty they consider to be appropriate. 2. Spitting. Players who spit on the field will be temporarily suspended for 5 minutes, although no points or cards will be awarded in respect of this offence |
