The Cook University hosted Rotorua Indians taking the early lead through a Wessells Eshuis PC conversion but struggled to convert other first half opportunities. Maurice McMillan, Tony Hopping, Tim Smith and Jason Bishop all found their mark in the 2nd half to run away 5-1 winners. Duane Taylor provided the consolation goal for the Indians. Te Rau Brown, McMillan and Hayden Repia all had solid games for Varsity whilst Kamlish Dheda provided the backbone for the visitors.

Ecolab Suburbs Piako were too slick for Papakura with Jeff Rosemary (4) and Jonny Forbes (3) combining to keep Suburbs unbeaten. Colin Rundle had another outstanding game in goal for Papakura and prevented Suburbs from posting a cricket score. Coach Carl Saunders made a welcome return to the field but set his sights too high when shooting several times over the goal. With a fully fit squad, Suburbs are hoping to repeat their Hooper Cup success in the Intercity competition.

Fraser Tech are now the only other unbeaten team when they defeated Tauranga Old Boys at Blake Park, Mt Maunganui 4-1. Grant Goyle and Rob Crozier continued their good scoring form to give Tech the advantage. Tauranga‚s Shaun Matthews pegged one back but Sandeep Puna restored the advantage and then increased it either side of the break. Tech welcomed the return of Puna and Richard Petherick from U21 duty and their run of ggod form should keep Tech in with a chance to spoil Suburbs title aspirations.

Hamilton Old Boys made it a clean sweep of wins for the Hamilton Premier Intercity teams in their game against Mt Maunganui. The teams shared in a goal fest and were locked up 3 all at half time. Old Boys eventually triumphed 7-5.

Southern United turned on a classy display in dispatching Tauranga 5-1. Janine Parry showed maturity and subtlety in her options around the field for Southern but her hat-trick of PC conversions paved the way for their emphatic victory. Rotorua Aces downed Bazuka Sports Varsity 4-3 in the ABN AMRO CRAIGS game of the day.
Aces opened the scoring with a well taken goal to Tiweka OCallaghan . Varsity settled well from the early set back with Kylie Morgan and Mel Yule controlling play to deliver a steady supply of ball for the Varsity forwards. Right wing Lymarah Whaurerau put the students on level terms with a well struck field goal and then Kylie Morgan delivered a superb through ball into the circle for Whaurerau to give Varsity a 2-1 lead. Left wing Alyse Morgan increased the lead with a solo effort sparking Aces to up the tempo of the game. Centre half Parekuira Rangitauira made some telling runs eventually finding Kiisha Gurren who took her scoring chance well to give Aces further reward for their first half efforts. Hurina Wright equalised early in the second spell to set up a frenetic final quarter in which both sides failed to convert pressure into goals. Last weeks hero for Aces, left wing Donna Keaney again came up trumps when she gave the visitors the lead just before the final whistle and should have increased it when she poached the ball off a sleepy Varsity defense only to put wide of the goal .
