SUMMER SERIES

Don't miss your opportunity to check out the Black Sticks men during the 'Summer Series'. From January 10th to 22nd the Black Sticks men continue their Olympic Qualifying preparation with test matches against Chile and Japan in Whangarei, Pukekohe and Tauranga.

BLACK STICKS DRAW SERIES AGAINST AUSTRALIA

The Black Sticks nearly broke a 40 year record when they were 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go in the final match of their series against Australia recently. Unfortunately they could not hold on for the win and what would have been the first time in 40 years that they had won a test series against Australia, instead holding on for the third draw of the series.

In the build up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Men’s and Women’s Black Sticks Squads will be “centralising” in the North Harbour / Auckland region. The two squads will be living and training in the region ­ the Women from 14 January and the Men following the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. For a number of players, this means moving their lives and homes to North Harbour / Auckland for a big chunk of 2008. This is a huge commitment by the players.
