Hi {FIRST_NAME}

The traditional hockey season may be over, but with Summer Hockey up and running throughout New Zealand - Hockey NZ and the Black Sticks are excited to join in with some special Summer action of our own. The above headline explains it all it’s been 33 years since we hosted the Dutch Men’s hockey team and considering their formidable reputation this test series promises to be an awesome display of top class international hockey. The Black Sticks men will be fired up and ready for the challenge following intensive trials in the preceding week and the appointment of a new national men’s coach.

Considering the competition we know demand will be high so please book your tickets early to show your support for the Black Sticks and enjoy some special discounts.

Trials ahead for Black Sticks squads

The 2007 squads have been named and with new coaches appointed to both squads the focus is now on an intensive trial regime to select the final teams. A lot is at stake during the coming 2007 year, not least of which is our need to secure Olympic Qualification for both teams. - 100yrs of wild West Coast Hockey

Hokitika became Hockeytika on November 12th in honour of West Coast Hockey Association’s 2006 centennial celebrations.  A weekend of festivities followed including a “Celebrities and Sponsors” match in Greymouth/ Goalmouth, the launch of a centennial book and an evening function at Shantytown/ ShintyTwo.  Topping off the weekend was a game of old-time ‘Cocky Hockey’ on the grass at Cass Square in Hockeytika. Old style hockey sticks were used for the occasion, with the game played according to the old rules of offside, roll-ins, bully offs and long corners.

The Centennial book published for the occasion, can be purchased from the WCHA, PO Box 6, Greymouth for just $25.
