Junior Black Sticks Mens Squad Announced
Following the recent training camp held at King College in Auckland, the 2007/08 Junior Black Sticks Squad has been named by coach Peter Miskimmin. The squad of 22 players includes 18 who will travel to Malaysia to participate in an 8-team tournament in January 2008.
Shay Neal (North Harbour), originally in the 18 for the Malaysian trip is unavailable due to injury and is replaced in the travelling squad by fellow North Harbour squad member Ben Wyatt. Marcus Child was not considered for the Malaysian trip due to injury. Simon Child is also considered to be in the squad (he will be the 23rd player), but will be unavailable for Junior Black Sticks commitments due to his role in the Black Sticks Men’s team preparing for the Olympic Qualifying tournament.
