Message to Secondary School Players from the President

Your hockey season is about to get underway. We have far more players than we have had in the past, and some schools have had to reduce numbers of teams entering the competition. There just isn't enough Turf hockey surfaces in and around Hamilton. The WHA is forced to hire schools turfs at considerable expense. It is a privilege that must not be abused. We expect a high standard of behaviour and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Umpires have the WHA support to enforce the following;
  • Players must wear a uniform
  • NO spitting on the turf
  • Mouthguards to be worn
  • NO swearing

Generally speaking, it is only the Team Captain that queries an umpires decision. Sometimes we make mistakes. Honesty and Sportsmanship go a long way to an enjoyable game.

Persistant failure to comply will mean the removal of that player. We have many others ready to take your place.
Make it HAPPEN! for your team.
