MINI HOCKEY NEWS UPDATE

| Just a few housekeeping details for the 8 a side finals day this
Saturday * Each team has two games, so check the draw carefully * Each time slot is 20 minutes long * The bell marks the finish of one game and the start of the next * As soon as the bell rings at the end of the game, please move off to the side of the turf to do cheers and shake hands * Please be ready to go onto the field as soon as the bell rings to end the previous game, and start play immediately. I suggest coaches take their players inside the fence by the end gates when the preceeding game has a couple of minutes to go Waikato Rep presentations Kate Mahon, from the Blacksticks will be with us at 9.40 a.m. to present medals to the rep players. If any players would like their sticks, or other personal items autographed, she will be available both before and after the rep presentations. National Hockey League The NHL commences on Sat Sept 16th with 16 great games of hockey in Auckland over the weekend. Midlands Men & Women play their only home games in Hamilton on Sunday 24 th Sept against North Harbour Women play at 1 p.m. Men play at 3 p.m. $5 adults, $2 secondary, children free. What a great deal - 2 games for $5, cheaper than the rugby, and in my opinion, more exciting too ! Finally those End of season feedback forms - please do fill one in, and encourage others to do the same. Some changes are being suggested for next year, with more games out in the suburbs and fewer at Gallagher Hockey centre, and with changes to the finals day which could see a combined day for schools at all levels and senior players. Before we make any decisions, we need to know what went well, and what you didn't like this year. Cheers, Sharyn Kerr |
