Venues: All respondents rated Gallagher Hockey Centre as GREAT St Pauls rated evenly from great through to poor Melville was rated Adequate by most respondents The most common complaint was lack of toilets at the school venues
Other comments about venues: Difficult when you have children playing at the different venues, prefer games at GHC x 6 In particular, parents with children involved in other sports, such as soccer or rugby preferred their children to have all their hockey games at one venue.
Draw: Most people got their draw information from the website. Noticeboards at the turfs were also used by half the respondents. Only 4 people got draw information from the newspaper.
Almost everyone rated the game times as O.K. One felt they varied too much. The most common negative complaint about the draw was the dislike of 8 a.m. games, but it was felt it was O.K. if these were shared around, and/or not given to teams with long distances to travel.
Clashes with other sports codes: Mentioned by 8 people
Umpiring: Most respondents said their team usually provided an umpire. Comments on the standard of umpiring was evenly divided between GOOD and OK. 4 respondents described the standard of umpiring as poor.
Comments about umpiring : Concerns were generally about inconsistent application of or poor understanding of rules. Two comments about adult umpire/coaches intimidating or making negative remarks about school age umpires.
