END OF SEASON
All teams are invited to celebrate our season of mini hockey on Sept
6th with a dress-up day.
Get out the facepaint, dress in a team theme, make sure we know
who your supporters are.
Prizes for best dressed teams, best dressed coaches, and best supporters.

LAST GAMES 6 A SIDE – 6TH SEPT
LAST GAMES 8 A SIDE 13TH SEPT
8 A SIDE GAMES on Sept 13th will run between
8 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. for final placings for the season.
Waikato
Hockey Centennial Year certificates will be presented to all 6 a side
players on Sept 6th and to all 8 a side players on Sept 13th. MILNE
CUP COMPETITION
Semi-finals will be held on Sept 6th and the finals on Sept 13th. Umpires
will be appointed for these games.
PRESENTATIONS TO WAIKATO REPRESENTATIVE PLAYERS
Presentations to representative players will be made on Sept 13th at
10.45 a.m. following the Milne Cup presentation.
All Waikato players may wear their tracksuit for the day.
WAIKATO HOCKEY CENTENNIAL 1908 - 2008
This year the Waikato Hockey Assn celebrates 100 years of hockey playing
in our region. Centennial celebrations are taking place in Hamilton
over the weekend 14-16 November. If you are wanting to catch up with
old hockey friends, or enjoy an evening out with new hockey friends,
check out the details on the Waikato Hockey website, or collect a pamphlet
from the pavilion.
CENTENNIAL INTERVIEWS COMPETITION
Waikato mini players are invited to discover the history of their sport
by undertaking interviews of past players, coaches, umpires and administrators.
These interviews will be displayed during the Centennial celebrations,
and collated and published so that all can read about hockey as it used
to be.
Please encourage your Year 4,5 & 6 players to make use of the interview
techniques they have learnt about at school. Entries close on Sept 6th.
Entry forms accompany this newsletter, and will also be
available on Saturday mornings from the pavilion. Prizes include sports
equipment and Coca Cola products
