JMB
Newsletter to School #4 2008 Start
times JMB
has moved the start time each day from 4.15pm to 4.25pm after a number
of schools asked for a later start.
Please make sure that ALL games start on time. If you start late, for whatever reason, you still need to finish
on time. If the game before
yours is running into your time, ask the umpires to stop the game. If
they donÕt, report it to the Pavilion Supervisor who will pass the information
on to the office.
Umpires It
is expected that each team outside the A and B secondary grades will
provide an umpire. This should NOT be the coach.
The umpire is not to coach the team at the same time as they
are umpiring.
Dispensations A
reminder that if you have players playing for you that are not students
at your school you need to inform the office so that they can go on
the Player Dispensation register. See Rule 10. Also any goalie that
is playing in the field for another team needs to be granted dispensation.
Goalies Umpires
will default any game where there is a team without a goalie. (See Rule
21). It will be written on the score card that the team has defaulted
and the score will be recorded as 5-0 to the other team irrespective
of what the game score is.
If
the umpires fail to deem a team has defaulted, for any reason, the opposing
team is still able to put in a protest (see Rule 26) that the team should
have been defaulted, otherwise the game score will stand.
The
team without the goalie will only pay both lots of turf fees if they
are not prepared to play the game. If the team without the goalie
wish to play the game with the other team receiving the points then
both teams will pay only their share of the turf fees.
If
both teams have no goalie then both teams will be deemed to be defaulted
and neither team will get any points.
Games
against Rep teams All
JMB games played against Waikato Rep teams are non-competition games. This means that neither team will get
any points from the game. Schools do not have to field registered players
for these games. If either team defaults, for whatever reason, normal
rules apply as far as turf cost etc are concerned.
Score
Cards/Results Please
make yourself familiar with Rule 15. In the first week of play we have
had 4 games where the result has not been notified to the WHA office
in time, resulting in the game being deemed a 1-1 draw. It is the winning
teamÕs captain that is responsible for handing in the completed score
card. GirlsÕ
competition JMB
is establishing a working party to examine the structure of the girlsÕ
secondary competition. Anyone interested in contributing to this is
welcome to contact JMB via the Hockey Office.
