JMB Newsletter to School #2 2008

With the season about to get under way, JMB would like to remind coaches, managers, parents and players of a few matters:

Health and safety
All teams should bring their own first-aid kits to hockey games. Players are required to wear mouth guards and shin pads and it is the responsibility of coaches/managers to ensure this happens.

Players must leave the turf if bleeding and may only return with the wound covered and uniform free of exposed blood.

Umpires
Teams are urged to include their designated umpire in their travel arrangements, especially as many umpires are unable to drive themselves. YOUR umpire – YOUR responsibility!

Game times
Games MUST play to time. A late-running game should be brought to an end in time for the next game to begin on schedule. Umpires may need to be politely reminded of this.

Player registrations
Please note that goalies don’t need to be floaters. They will still need permission from JMB to play up a grade but this will be granted on safety reasons.

Results from relegation games
– if a lower ranked team wins its relegation game but does not wish to change its night of play, they can refuse to accept the promotion.

Finals night will be a week later than last year for all grades - Wednesday 17th September.
