Well done Waikato Diocesan and St Peter's School for winning their tournaments.

Waikato Diocesan made history by winning the 2nd tier schoolgirls tournament earning the right to play in the elite schoolgirls Federation Cup tournament next year .

They won this years final comfortably against Wellington's top schoolgirls side Samuel Marsden 2-0 with Morgan Quin and Captain Carla Johl both scoring. Coach Hayden Steel and Manager Felicity Johl did an exceptional job with this relatively young side and this years success will be capped off well if they can also stave off the challenge of Hillcrest High in the final of the Waikato Secondary School championship this Wednesday. Local crowd support was bolstered by a large number of the very vocal Diocesan

The final's win was far easier than the semi final victory over hot favourites Rangitoto College and excellent goal keeping during the penalty stroke off by Morna Nielsen was the difference in the sides. Dio topped their pool with wins over 4th placed St Matthews 2-1, St Hilda's College 5-0, and Epsom Girls Grammar 4-0.

St Peter's School also tasted success when their girls team triumphed at the Eveline Hankers Memorial schoolgirl tournament in Palmerston North. They defeated Wellington Girls 1-0 in the final after clinically seeing of the challenge from Iona College winning 5-1 in the semi finals.

St John's College defeated HBHS 2nd X1 3-0 in their semi final with the sides finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively at the Galletly Cup tournament in Tauranga whilst Otorohanga College Boys also finishing a creditable 3rd in the Coaches Cup tournament in Blenheim.
