DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS REPORT TO WHA
26 JUNE 2002

GENERAL
This has been another active month involving: hands on coaching, mentoring, SportsForce specific commitments, administration and funding issues, Rep programme involvement, coaching courses, NZHF issues and liaison with our affiliated sub associations.

PRIMARY COACHING
Southwell – 29/05/ Otorohanga South School, Waitomo School, Rangitoto School, Pukenui School, Te Kuiti Primary, Te Awamutu Mini Module, Putaruru Intermediate, Puahue School, Fairfield Intermediate – 10/06/.

SECONDARY
Hillcrest High – 31/05/ (Elaine Ross).
Forest View High School – 05/06/ – 4 hours.
Putaruru High – 10/06/.

MENTORING
Existing coaches already in programme.
U18 girl coach – 28/05/.
Glen Massey – 31/05/.
Fairfield Intermediate – 06/06/
Melville High – resources.

REP COACHING
ß Queens Birthday weekend tournament (Auckland)
ß Family Day at Tauranga
ß Collier Trials – 16/06/02
ß U18 Development team including Waikato @ Auckland – 23/06/

ADMINISTRATION
ß Discussions and liaison with Umpires re Umpiring Programmes and Funding.

ß Liaison with NZHF re Development Tournaments.

ß Amalgamated Grants – consultation and distribution of application forms for the next round of Amalgamated Grants.
Applications close 1st August. Note $30,000 in 2001.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
ß Queens Birthday Monday clinic for Mini players.
ß Matamata Schools Coaching Day (12/06) Games and coaching. Fullday in Hamilton.
ß Intermediate Schools Field Day. Administration and umpiring support – 11/06/.
Including organisation and mentoring of umpires

GENERAL
ß Appointments of coaches for Men’s B and Women’s B teams pending
ß Mc Grath tournament being researched for Mini Assoc.
ß “Getting Started” course scheduled for Southwell school this Saturday afternoon.
ß U18s at tournament next week. Girls in Wellington and the boys in Christchurch
ß U15s week of 8-13 July. Boys in Dunedin. Girls in Hamilton with Seddon Polglase controller of the 24 team tournament (which includes Waikato Development team)
ß Mini Holiday coaching next week.
